Urbanization as a powerful engine plays an important role in economic development . Under the national strategy of “One Belt and One Road” ,the ethnic area of southwest China ,close to Southeast Asia ,shows prominent geographical advantages .By using “core‐periphery” pattern for ref‐erence ,it is supposed to take the influence of economic core areas so as to strengthen the association and develop the secondary economic core cities ,and further develop small‐towns inside the area ,as well as those fringe areas which are remote from towns ,limited in life and production by natural envi‐ronment ,and having low economic development .According to “migration‐aggregation” pattern ,it is supposed to migrate at reasonable timing so as to advance element accumulation and industrial devel‐opment ,as well as system innovation to help throw off poverty .In addition ,it is suggested to pro‐mote the urbanization of production and life thinking to advance economy .At the same time ,through adjusting measures to local conditions and making reasonable planning ,small‐tow ns can be construc‐ted and surrounded by secondary cities ,to exert the effects of clusters between cities and towns .
